The Holy Spirit whispered to me this question:
“Who says you have to vote?”
I knew that it was up to Him to tell me how to vote and how I should vote.
Let me ask you this question.
Do you vote for what you want OR what God wants?
Here’s why I ask those questions.
Is either party representing righteousness?
Both major parties espouse some righteous goals in their platform.
Democrats seek to help the poor and marginalized. They’re caring about the planet. Republicans want to preserve life and certain religious freedoms. Those are just a few examples.
But do those platforms represent what God wants? Either of them ?
God wants people to know Him.
His commandments, laws, and precepts are meant to keep us safe and most importantly, close to Him.
And we know that neither party exists to bring us closer to God.
They exist to get what they want.
Power.
THE POLITICAL SYSTEM IS A WORLD SYSTEM and this means it does not worship God.
It serves God, but the political system does not worship God.
The government does not worship God.
Yet, throughout scripture God allows wicked people to rule the government.
God is in control of the government.
“For exaltation comes neither from the east Nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He puts down one, And exalts another.” . Psalms 75:6-7 NKJV
God uses whoever He wants to get His glory and get people to come to Him and turn to Him.
He used a donkey to talk to Balaam! So He can use whatever means He chooses to get through to us.
God wants His Church.
And the truth is God will use a democrat or republican as He chooses.
So we are asking the wrong question when we ask “Who should I vote for?”
It’s really “God what are you doing in the earth? What are you doing in your Church?”
Should we partner with a Babylonian system?
Think about the religious leaders in the days of Jesus. They had partnered with a pagan system.
And they didn’t recognize Jesus when He was standing right in front of them.
They lost pure and devoted worship in exchange for political influence, prestige, and power over people.
It disgusted the Lord. He spoke of how their religious traditions “shut up the Kingdom of Heaven,” for people who otherwise would serve God faithfully.
He said they were full of themselves and only sought to be exalted.
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence." Matthew 23:25 NKJV
The Pharisees wanted to be in power.
They wanted influence over people. They wanted financial rewards.
Right now, the question is "Who is your King?"
Is it a party or a president ?
Or is it King Jesus?
The Word makes it clear, no matter who is in power, Jesus is truly behind whatever is happening.
“The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.” Proverbs 21:1 NKJV
If we know He truly decides who’s in power, why don’t we spend more time in prayer for our government instead of forcing ourselves to choose between two unrighteous choices?
We are living in a time where having faith in politics has been equated to having faith in Christ.
They are totally separate and different.
If I don’t vote, I’m no less a Christ follower. I’m not commanded to vote.
I AM commanded to serve no other God.
“You shall have no other gods before Me." Exodus 20:3 NKJV
I believe politics has stolen faith and devotion from the church.
We preach sermons about voting.
But that means we are promoting the trust in man.
The Democrats' platform are in favor of abortion rights, teaching transgender identity is fine, and homosexual marriage.
The Republican platform ignore the truth about climate change in favor of business profits. Their platform attracts racism and bigotry. Some members of the party use their mouths in despicable ways to curse and deride their opponents. Their platform also attracts violent extremists.
NOTE: I'm not saying Republicans are racist or bigots or violent extremists. I'm saying the party platform ATTRACTS those types of people due to an unrighteous platform.
The truth is the love of money is behind both parties. Wealthy donors are supporting and influencing these parties.
THAT’S WHY THE RICH DONATE TO BOTH PARTIES!
The love of money is at the root of the system.
It’s about money and power.
Jesus did not answer to politicians, seek their favor, or seek their influence.
“Then Pilate asked Him again, saying, “Do You answer nothing? See how many things they testify against You!” But Jesus still answered nothing, so that Pilate marveled.” Mark 15:4-5 NKJV
Jesus was not afraid of the government mistreating Him. He knew His Father was in control. Despite the fact, His people were being oppressed by the government, He allowed the oppression. He didn't fight back.
Why?
Because the oppression accomplish His goal: to bring people to humility and a place where they would hear and receive Him.
I believe Jesus would have been ignored if He had come during a time of great prosperity in Israel.
They wouldn’t have felt a need for a Savior.
That is the intoxicating effect of political power. When you have power, you don’t feel you need a Savior.
We need to be reminded that no matter who is in power, we are free!
“...Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from strangers?” Peter said to Him, “From strangers.” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free." Matthew 17:25-26 NKJV
The government might oppress us and treat others well, but our Father will take care of us. Just as the "friends" of the government are "free," we are free in Christ!
We are children of the King and our King doesn't mistreat us, even as the world persecutes us.
This is a lesson we are going to learn very well as the last days continue.
He will always care of us even as the world is against us.
We can’t escape persecution.
It’s prophesied in the Word.
Lawlessness will increase. The spirit of the Antichrist has already been released.
But when we look at the Church we see that we’re entrenched in a Pharisee model. This spirit of religion has co-opted and blinded the Church all over the world.
We really believe it’s our job to put people in political office.
Let the world rule itself. We are not of this world.
The religious believe there’s only one way to vote in spite of the vast character flaws and the pride we see in the Republican Party or the Democratic Party.
I want to suggest that we don’t support either party.
I propose that we trust the Lord.
Our political system has never been more perverse and corrupt.
There are demonic spirits influencing both major parties.
These parties control the voting system and don’t allow for independent thinking from their elected officials or there is retribution.
This is the model we wanted.
Just as Israel rejected Samuel as a prophet and judge and representative of God, we have rejected the Lord as the King of the government, even in the church.
We’d rather elect extremists who foment hate and bash their opponents and blatantly ignore reasonable counsel since they are anti-abortion and advance "religious freedom."
We’d rather elect people who promote sexual perversion and perverse ideas about gender identity since they are friendly to minorities’ needs for economic support, civil rights, and social advancement.
Where is the outcry to the Lord to cleanse these parties?
How can we be so entrenched?
How can any Christian identify as a democrat?
How can any Christian identify as a republican?
We know from scripture that the global economic and political system is nose-diving toward serving the revealed Antichrist.
But many Antichrists are already in the world.
And those spirits are already sending us on an ever-increasing momentum toward degradation.
It’s time for all Christians to divest themselves of the idea that we HAVE to vote.
It’s time we release ourselves from the pressure of believing the politicians rule the nation.
It’s time we pray and fast and seek God’s face before we identify with any political party.
Can you see it?
The Lord is revealing the corruption and pride and the religious and political spirits that are so pervasive in our government.
It’s time we no longer agree with this unrighteousness.
It’s time that we divest ourselves of the Babylonian system.
And allow ourselves to be occupied.
This will stir up the gifts of the spirit and drive us to prayer.
Only persecution will cleanse us of our selfish desires and purify the Bride.
We have to be helpless before we will cry out.
Like God’s children of Israel in Egypt, we need to be oppressed and submit to oppression in order to cry out.
We need to be re-familiarized with true worship.
We have lost our pure worship at the altar of politics and power.
Political power seeks to influence people for one’s own benefit.
God’s power is meant to benefit everyone and give Him glory.
Our power comes from our ability to influence people with God.
We don’t need to seek to influence people with politics.
It’s not in the Bible.
Our battle is not with flesh and blood.
Please pray that the Church will submit to God and His Kingdom government.
Pray that we will trust HIM with all of our hearts and lean not on our own understanding.
I pray we will seek His face and His blessing and His lordship.
We don’t fear man or exalt him as our provider or savior.
We fear God.
We trust Him.
We love Him.
And He is demanding His Church loves Him fully.
May God bless you and speak to you personally on this matter in your time with Him.
In Him alone,
Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him. Exodus 32:36 NKJV (Emphasis Mine)
