The Lord is very concerned for our health.
In this dream, the Lord asked me a rhetorical question to bring attention to the obesity epidemic that is ravaging our families and His people.
I was in a car at an intersection and I heard the Spirit say,
“Is the obesity epidemic getting any better?”I knew it wasn’t getting better.
I knew I needed to research it.
This is a scheme of the evil one, baiting us into eating ourselves to death.
As I prayed with the Lord on this dream, I heard, "lust of the flesh."
"For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world." 1 John 2:16 NKJV
The obesity epidemic did not come from the Lord, it came from our flesh.
As the Lord ministered to me, he revealed to me that many of us don’t have the fear of the Lord.
The Word of God establishes this truth, without the fear of God, we cannot access knowledge or wisdom.
We will walk in ignorance and foolishness.
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction." Proverbs 1:7 NKJV
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." Proverbs 9:10 NKJV
The Lord also ministered to me and revealed oftentimes we don’t believe and know that He owns our bodies.
So we don’t honor the Lord with our bodies.
"Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body [a]and in your spirit, which are God’s." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NKJV
To walk in lack of control over what we eat, is to walk in lust.
This is on the Lord’s heart.
This is an epidemic in the church.
A lack of honor for God with our bodies.
What do we yearn for?
Do we yearn for God more than we yearn to fill our bellies?
The obesity epidemic is an illustration of how the spirit of lust is spreading in the land. It is the lust of the flesh.
The Lord wants us to be healthy.
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” III John 1:2 NKJV
The key to breakthrough in this area is to walk in truth.
The truth will set us free.
What has happened is we have allowed lust of the flesh through the gates of our mouths. And the defilement has impacted our minds.
We don't walk in the truth because we believe a lie.
Our minds are bowing to Christ in the area of food. We don't worship while we eat.
Many of us are using food as an escape, when the Lord is supposed to be your way of escape.
Stress, joy, depression - these are just a few of the reasons and triggers for why we might eat what we want and eat the way "we want."
The Lord is not pleased when this becomes an idol of the heart.
We are invited to celebrate and enjoy our food, but we are not allowed to replace the satisfaction we have in Christ with satisfaction of the flesh.
We need the truth inside of us AND we need to walk in the truth.
To walk in the truth, gives the Father joy!
“For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” III John 1:3-4 NKJV (Emphasis mine)
I pray the Lord will be allowed to minister to you in this area.
CDC statistics show nearly 42% of adult Americans are currently obese. These numbers have only increased year-by-year.
Obesity kills an estimated 300,000 Americans a year, more than 2 million people worldwide according to the World Health Organization.
Additionally, obesity leads to heart disease, diabetes, and cancer - three of the top five fatal diseases.
This is from the enemy.
Please allow the Lord to free your mind from serving food and your flesh.
