"Am I safe?"

Updated: Apr 25, 2020

Perhaps there is no better time for us to ask such a critical question.

If we're walking with God... we're always covered.

At the moment of this writing, 797,000 people have been infected with COVID-19, a virus that has an unusually efficient method of spreading. And it has created an unusual response. Nations around the world are locked down. Their borders are virtually closed.

Nearly 41,000 people have died.

I won't tell you there's no hope, however.

81% of those infected have recovered.

Out of the number currently infected, 95% of them have mild symptoms.

There is hope!!!

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." -Romans 8:28 NIV

As you've probably figured out, I'm all about sharing my testimony.

In my latest video on the [faith feed.] YouTube channel, I speak about my experience with asking the question, "Am I safe?" You can see the video on this website or here: https://youtu.be/UCkplAJ6Yws

So here's MY story.

I had just left my career in TV news for "who knows what?"

I was not yet sure about where God has us going.

What I did know was this... my son was sick.

And I wasn't sure we had health insurance.

Did I make the right decision?

Did I put my family in unnecessary danger?

Watch what happened.

I was not afraid, but I was concerned. I made all the required phone calls. I called my former employer. A staffer told me my insurance had already expired...

But he wasn't sure.

I then decided I should call the corporate office.

I had to go to the top.

"Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." -Hebrews 4:6 NIV

And wouldn't you know? The higher authority told me my insurance had not run out.

I still had a week left of coverage!!!

I WAS COVERED.

Yes. I was indeed covered.

This set off a flurry of activity. Dental appointments for my wife and I and all three kids.

And doctor's appointments.

And eye appointments.

Just in time, we heard the truth. We are safe. We are covered. We have everything we need.

So I want to encourage you.

Go to the higher authority.

Ask God for direction about what you should do.

I guarantee you, you're covered.

If you're a believer in Jesus Christ, you have protection.

"You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance." -Psalm 32:7 NIV

The bible speaks about how God wants to cover us like a mother hen shelters her chicks.

He is our shelter, if we choose to seek Him.

[Ask, Seek, Knock]Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. -Matthew 7:7 NIV

In this season and every season of your life, God wants you to walk in faith.

Wherever He wants to take you, He will provide for you.

It might look dark or impossible.

But with God, nothing (good) is impossible.

With the insurance, I was praying for something I already had.

My coverage had not expired.

Neither has yours!

God bless you.

Thank you for this reassuring message. I have been panicking with everything (job security, income, where am I gonna get groceries from, how much panic attacks will I get because of this, etc.) But I feel so silly and stupid worrying about these things when God has said and done time and again, I will NEVER leave you, I will never forsake you, my daughter. On your daily live feed today, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace, the best peace I’ve felt since this whole social distancing began. What I know for sure, we are safe in God’s loving arms.
